Introduction:

Citric Acid Anhydrous is an organic compound with appearance of White Crystalline Powder, Colorless Crystals or Granules with 99% purity, the molecular formula is C6H8O7. It's mainly used in food and beverage industry as sour agent, seasoning agent and natural preservative. It is also used as an antioxidant, plasticizer and detergent in the chemical industry, cosmetics industry and washing industry.

 

Citric Acid is a very essential food additive (used mainly as an acidity regulator), obtained from processing corn into corn sugars into Citric Acid.

It is a relatively weak acid and has a distinct, sour taste. It is an integral part of the Krebs cycle and therefore plays an essential role in the metabolism of all living things.

 

In nature it is found in large quantities in fruits – notably citrus fruits such as oranges, lemons and certain berries.


When added to food products or beverages, the acid provides a sharp, sour taste which increases appetite and enhances flavor. Citric Acid can be used as an acidity regulator, preservative, flavor enhancer …etc.

 

Application:

1.In Food Industry:About 50% used in beverages & 20% in other food applications.
- An acidity regulator.
- A flavor enhancer and sequestering agent in processed food and beverages.
- A synergist in antioxidant mixtures.
- A natural preservative.


2. Detergents: Around 20% of global citric acid production goes in detergents applications.


3. Other Applications: About 10%
- Cosmetics.
- Pharmaceutical preparations especially effervescent tablets.

Packaging:

- Plastic paper bag or three layer Kraft paper bag, net weight of each is 25kg.

- Polypropylene container bags of 500kg or 1000kg net each.

Delivery time:

7-15 working days after deposit.

 

Storage:

Citric Acid may be stored for 24 months from the date of manufacture in the un-opened original container. A relative humidity of 50% and a temperature range of 10-35ºC are the most suitable conditions for storage to prevent Citric Acid from crystallization.

 

- Keep in cool, dry and ventilated place, away from light.

- Avoid mixing with poisonous, peculiar smell and colored powder.
