Titanium Dioxide (TiO2), also known as white pigment, is the naturally occurring compound created when titanium reacts with the oxygen in the air.
Titanium Dioxide has gone through rigorous testing and classification throughout the years, which have repeatedly confirmed its safety for consumers. It is used as the food colourant E171 to add whiteness in processed foods like chocolate products, sweets, baked goods, snacks, chewing gum and so on.
New Ambition Titanium Dioxide is an untreated and uncoated anatase sulphate process pigment with high brightness,purity and good opacity pigmentation.
The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Titanium Dioxide as a food additive in 1966, with the stipulation that its content should not exceed 1% of the food weight. In 2002, the FDA also approved Titanium Dioxide for use as a photo catalyst and white pigment in various products, including medicine and toothpaste.
Titanium Dioxide also used in pharmaceutical, cosmetics, paints and coatings as well as construction industry.
